This accessibility statement applies to the website published under the domain www.irebs.academy by IREBS Immobilienakademie GmbH.

As a public body within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, we strive to make our websites and mobile applications accessible in accordance with the provisions of the Hessian Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Act (HessBGG) and the Hessian Ordinance on Accessible Information Technology (BITV HE 2019) implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

Compliance status

The accessibility requirements are based on Sections 3 (1–4) and 4 of BITV 2.0, which was enacted pursuant to Section 12d of the German Disability Equality Act (BGG).

This website was reviewed on July 21, 2025, using a self-assessment conducted with the WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool and complementary manual testing.

Based on this review, the website is partially compliant with the above-mentioned requirements due to the following exceptions.

Non-compliance with BITV HE 2019

The following content does not comply with Section 3 (1) of BITV HE 2019 for the reasons stated below:

Color contrast

• Issue: The contrast ratio between foreground and background colors is insufficient in several places – for example, between white (#ffffff) and blue (#009be4) on buttons, headings, active slider elements, and breadcrumb navigation. Similarly, the contrast between white and orange (#FF6347), such as the study counseling button in the footer, is inadequate. The secondary color used in program and seminar sections also shows insufficient contrast in some areas.

Alternative texts

• Issue: Some images and graphics are missing meaningful alternative text.

Screen reader compatibility

• Issue: The HTML structure is not fully optimized for screen readers. Icon fonts are read out even though they are purely decorative. Lists in the footer are not semantically marked up and are therefore not announced properly.
• Planned measure: Improved semantic markup and use of aria-hidden and appropriate role attributes.

Keyboard navigation (Tab navigation)

• Issue: Several elements cannot be reached via the Tab key. These include:
  • Main navigation
  • Sticky buttons on the right screen edge
  • Tab components (e.g., "Modules", "Application")

  • Scroll-to-top button
  • Slider contents (e.g., projects)

• Issue: Various elements—especially sticky buttons, start dates, and slider projects—are not focusable and lack visible focus indicators.

Slider functionality

• Issue: Sliders autoplay without the ability for users to stop or pause playback.

• Issue: The salutation dropdown field lacks a properly associated label.

Enforcement procedure

If you do not receive a satisfactory response from the above contact, you may contact the Enforcement and Monitoring Body for Accessible Information Technology. After a six-week period, you have the right to initiate the enforcement procedure. This body will work with all parties involved to determine the cause of non-compliance and aim to resolve the issue.
