Overview

Sustainable property financing: designing future-proof investments

The real estate industry is on the verge of a decisive transformation: in order to achieve the ambitious climate targets in Europe, extensive investments in energy-efficient buildings and sustainable infrastructures are required. National and international regulations such as the EU Taxonomy, the SFDR and the CSRD set clear standards for sustainable financing strategies – and challenge banks, investors and companies alike.

The Sustainable Real Estate Finance course was developed in collaboration between BUILTWORLD and the IREBS Real Estate Business School. This partnership provides in-depth knowledge of the key financing instruments and regulatory frameworks for sustainable real estate financing. You will learn how green loans, green bonds, covered bonds and other sustainable financing vehicles are used in a targeted manner. You will also discover how investors and financial institutions can develop compliant and future-oriented sustainability strategies.

The Sustainable Real Estate Finance programme is aimed at all players in the real estate industry who are interested in financing topics and who need to make their real estate portfolio fit for the coming decades in a compliant manner.

Discover a wide range of other benefits and learn how this course of study can help you develop your professional potential.

Is the study programme recognised according to the Vocational Training Act? Can I apply for educational leave for the study programmes at the IREBS Real Estate Academy?

Whether educational leave can be applied for depends on two factors: Firstly, a Vocational Training Act must be in force in the federal state in which one's employer operates. Secondly, the continuing education provider must be recognised according to the criteria of the federal state.

Since Bavaria does not have a vocational training act, employees from this federal state cannot apply for educational leave. Interested workers from NRWBerlin or Hamburg, on the other hand, are generally entitled to ten days of educational leave within two years, which the employer can grant on application under certain circumstances. If you would like to know whether you can apply for educational leave and what steps you need to take, please contact our study manager Katja Bobber.
